Perhaps no vitamin illustrates the need for risk of plements, vitamin C. without enough C your muscles and ligaments would lose their stretch, like old rubber bands. Bleeding gums’d plague you,
Fatigue, and wounds that wouldn’t heal. In fact the benefits of C extend to warding off heart attacks and strokes, and bolstering the immune system against colds, flu and even cancer. Here are a few reasons why you shouldn’t be seeing through the wonders of C,


 

An anti- anger: the next time you’re looking at rejuvenating skin treatments, look no further than vitamin C. It minimizes fine lines, it’s a collagen booster and combats aging giving you gorgeous skin.

Saving your sight: Vitamin C as an antioxidant protects your eyes from vision –altering free radical damage. It helps decrease vision loss in patients with age-related macular degeneration.

Stroke of luck: In a10 year study of 2,400 men, finnish researchers found that men consuming regular amounts of the those who hardly took it. The reduction in the risk of stroke is attributed to vitamin C’s ability to minimise artery damage from free radicals, reduce blood pressure and help control cholesterol.

Asthma healer: A new study published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, found that getting more antioxidant vitamins C and E may help asthmatic kids breathe easy in pollution areas.

 

Gums in the pink of health: Ascorbic acid or vitamin C is responsible for formation of collagen in connective tissues, the absence of which leads to red, swollen and spongy gums that bleed easily; teeth may loosen or even fall out.

Fitness tip: After a heavy workout, have a vitamin C rich drink (Juice of orange, mosambi, guava or amla ) to reduce risk of catching cold.
Oranges and other citrus fruits, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, green Pepper raw cauliflower and black currants are rich sources of vitamin C, the recommended daily intake ranging from 35 mg in infants to 60-75 mg in adults.
